ONCE UPON AN ALWAYS

I used this as a lead in to my one novel. It was for me the image of stagnation. That is the view and feel I had for it.

Right now I’m going through a valley. One that could be very serious. And I am not allowing myself to be sad over it.

This is one of those valleys that just happens. Not something that was result of my choice as some are.

In fact it is one of those situations where I even were I had taken precautions to avoid the valley and it still came. But this is when faith is required.

The ability to let things be in the Lord’s hands. Which includes accepting His will regardless of the consequence.

Now the challenge is to keep that view even if it means that things don’t improve. I know easy it is to see it as unfair.

But we can never see all the facts in this life. We are not capable of learning every truth either.

So we end up with the debate in our head. Did we do anything to deserve what happen? Was it a punishment?

And it is so easy to become bitter over such things. But that never is an expression of faith.

It merely takes us to the level of not seeing what the Lord intended. Which is to get us sidetrack from what is really important.

But that is the part we have to learn to face in some many ways without our mind controlling the reaction. Letting the trust prevail through it all.

So this can lose the luster when the storms come. That can really drain us of our enthusiasm.

And that is a struggle. To pretend otherwise is not to be honest. So it is okay to have feelings.

Even to have some degree of unhappiness. But the important thing is to not give up on trusting the Lord.

That is the part that truly is critical. Sometimes we find that what we think we have lost and couldn’t live without wasn’t that important.

But then at times it is a lesson hard to accept.
