Road To Acceptance

 

There are so many paths to follow

all lined with billboard signs,

offering ways to earn memberships

into a group or club.

 

But they print all the rules,

the many details you have to embrace

just to sit in their shelter

and listen to them

explain why life is perfect

being in their domain.

 

Bowing down and bending over

are the practices one learns

in order to skip along the highway

leading to some place

where others say you are okay.

 

One road is the hardest to find,

a pavement that ends inside,

at the house where you live

and come to see yourself

as someone

truly worth caring about.
