ONWARD
Moving forwards is something so many of us naturally desire. We hope to be better tomorrow than we are today. At least we claim that at times.
I'm not persuaded we always belief it though. There are times when change can be scary. Progress does after all in part involve change.
Perhaps we wished it wasn't that way. One could hardly be upset by that desire. Only in reality it is hard to be both one who is growing and at the same time staying the same.
You just can't truly manage both ends of the spectrum at the same time. Not and be honest about your feelings.
The plain fact is you have to be prepared for the consequences to move ahead. They will vary according to what it is that is the price of choice.
There are a lot of times in life when we can avoid change if we want. We might be miserable in our dull lives, but that can be so much less painful to the stress of constant change.
However in the spiritual level things work differently. One can not truly follow God and ever stay the same.
For the very basic nature of faith is such that the more we trust the Lord, the more our lives will face demands that will make us trust him more. It may not happen in any set time schedule, but it will mean change.
This is truly for our best interest. We can not mature and grow without such experience. That can include pain at times, but also joy.
Some will always try so hard to avoid such realities. They will sit in the pews, speak by rote of their faith, but fear to intensely any change that might actually bring growth.
God doesn't force us to move onward. He will not press us beyond our fears if we resist. We may even applaud ourselves for the wisdom of not changing, when it fact we are in reality depriving ourselves of a blessing.
Such is the nature of spiritual movement. And for those who understand it and move ahead on God's path the trip always ends up bringing its own form of joy.
There is no road map to such trips. Just the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Who will always help us in a way that brings our best form of growth.
Providing we embrace it for the truth and don't think such lessons are to be ignored. That is the part which can truly make the different whether we ultimately move ahead or simply mark time in our boredom and sadness.
