SHALL I COLOR THE RAINBOW

Shall I color the rainbow
in the vibrant hues of perfect dreams
till they shine in dazzling auras
like brilliant , precious jewels
made from the lustrous gemstones
of my mind?

Can I stir the well of churning memories
until is overflows
with images profound,
quenching a parched and withered soul
though literary leaked droplets
from the richest of magic's mood elixirs,
flooding the heart's creative canals
as waves, sublime and leading?

It all begins
before that fated dawn of inspiration's restraining
where one slept in the crippling crypt
surrounded by a listless stench of imagination's constipation,
leaving one without a candle of words
to guide beyond
a stupefying vigil in impotent finger flutters.

Rise in the jubilant laughter of newborn anticipation,
filling the muse within
guided by an infusion of intuitive light,
savoring again, invention's healing wind.
