Ruwach Psalm

It is the wind within

stirred by the Holy Spirit

that gives life to our words,

beckons to sing what He inspires

in petition and praise,

obedient to His leading,

asking as the light of His power

shines with understanding.

 

Summoning in our breath

not by our mind’s exhaling thoughts

what is a psalm of eternal resound

as part of the communion between soul

and the Lord’s inner presence.

 

And like a breeze

we never know where it will blow,

sometimes calling from the deep ache inside

to groan with such intense yearnings,

but always by His divine love

when listening to His voice,

blending and speaking

that precious combination

of concerns and thanksgiving,

which are the sounds of our humanness

conveyed in their honesty.

 

Lifted with truth and faith

simply sharing what lies on the heart

as a burden left on His altar of grace.

 

For our Heavenly Father will always listen

unto each word we express,

granting peace when we truly know

that it was the melody of our nakedness

unmasked of any presumptions.
