A SINGLE DROP

The eyes of the soul

empowered by the Holy Spirit

can see oceans of the Lord’s power

in a single drop.

 

For faith’s vision

is able to gaze at His eternal presence

within even the faintest

trace of moisture,

knowing He is able to pour out gushers

at His slightly wish.

 

His bounty is everlasting and flows freely,

though not always visible

to orbs of only practical sight,

who can’t detect how His waters are endless

a supply that He gracious blesses

by the river of His unconditional love.

 

It is to be clothed in the mantel of Noah’s trust

where we see God’s rainfall and flood

that no one else can ever imagine,

confidently and quietly steadfast,

ever expecting Him to keep His word.

 

To stand in any desert

praising Him so intently and joyously

with hymns and prayers

holding His word as living water

so very true and always allowing one

to sense the effervescent immortal cascade,

which always exists in Heaven’s fountain

no matter how arid the day,

embracing it with peace and thanksgiving

because there is no drought in life

that God can drench.
