THE KINGDOM COMES

Wearing
a hat of thorns
never
serves to protect.
It does kill
the message of guiding,
which is muttered
during faint and vague
romances
with the clouds.
Our journey thus
is a path we oft forsake
if only while our spirit’s
remains awake.
Instead
what gets missed
are those illumined gems of inner speaking
that God would
grant us
to ever possess.
