Fires

Why do there have to be so many liars
who start within anger's hottest fire?
Telling tales to please
pretending their minds aren't filled with sleaze.

Dancing with sincerity in their eyes
while the whole time they only of you just despise.
Producing a bouquet of verbal care about you flowers
which never smells other than with scents that sours.

Still they will keep up their charade
no matter who stupid their trust me parade.
And promise to be your friend for life
while holding behind your back a knife.

Got to wonder the point of this game
for some though it will never bring any shame.
