DIETING

I have learned

that pride sired obstinate and futile
reality
of denial.
Not
from pleasure
alone,
but also of need.
Well
presumed
need at least.
Perhaps the greatest
truth
discovered
is that
my journey
in a forced change of ways
will end
only
at Heaven’s throne.
